JR Jackson, sports media personality and founder of JR Sport Brief, transforms sports media with innovation and advocacy.

TRAILBLAZER. INNOVATOR. ADVOCATE.

JR Jackson is a dynamic, self-made media personality who turned his love for sports, music, and the internet into a highly successful full-time career. Operating under the motto of “Sports opinions by a fan, for the fans," JR originally built his massive following through his YouTube sports blog, “JRSportBrief,” which has amassed more than 80 million views online.

Extensive Multimedia Experience & Event Coverage

JR’s media footprint spans across digital, radio, and television platforms. He hosted “The JR SportBrief Show on CBS Sports Radio,” a hit program that reached more than 300 stations weeknights across North America. He’s served as a host and contributor to WFAN Radio in New York City, 92.9 The Game and V-103 in Atlanta, and NBA TV.

Throughout his career, JR has traveled the world to provide a fan's perspective on the biggest stages in sports, covering multiple Olympic Games, Super Bowls, and Final Fours. He has sat down for exclusive interviews with global icons and legends, including Pelé, Usain Bolt, the late Kobe Bryant, Snoop Dogg, and Kevin Hart.

Tech Innovation: SportBrief AI Solutions

Expanding his impact into the technology sector, JR is collaborating with Google and Morgan State University (MSU) to develop SportBrief AI Solutions (SBAI). This innovative technology is designed to analyze a game and deliver a complete audio or video wrap-up in a matter of seconds. As part of this initiative, Google donated $100,000 to MSU on behalf of JRSportBrief. JR specifically chose to partner with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to provide students with hands-on experience in tech, AI, and engineering, ensuring they have the opportunities to excel in these rapidly growing fields.

Philanthropy and the "Media for the Movement" Tour

Beyond the microphone and technology, JR is a dedicated advocate for people with intellectual disabilities and aims to spread the message of inclusion through his platform. A passionate supporter of the Special Olympics movement, JR recently partnered with Special Olympics to host the impactful "Media for the Movement" tour.

Over two years, JR traveled to 44 colleges, speaking to students pursuing careers in journalism and broadcasting, while heavily emphasizing the importance of inclusion and equality in the industry. Putting his advocacy into action, JR used his radio broadcasts during the tour to feature on-air messages from 92 Special Olympics athletes, Unified partners, coaches, local ambassadors, and staff.

For JR, sports are more than just a pastime or a business; they are "a lever to balance out social inequalities." Through his broadcasting, tech partnerships, and philanthropic work, he continues to inspire audiences and the next generation of professionals to achieve greatness while treating everyone they meet with decency and respect.
